Students in all grades were excited to wear their pajamas to school for a day last week as part of the school wide reward for earning over 150 Purple Pirate coupons!  Even though they were quite comfortable, students continued to work hard in their reading groups, writing letters for Wee Deliver, and practicing their math skills while working with partners.  Our pajama day was a great way to celebrate all the hard work that happens every day here at Francis Wyman!

Students in 3rd grade delivered hundreds of letters
each day written by students, parents, and staff as part of the
Wee Deliver program.  The goal of the program focuses
on teaching letter writing skills as well as helping
students understand how our postal system works.
Thank-you 3rd grade!!

Join us for a presentation about Dyslexia, a language-based learning disability.

Dyslexia refers to a cluster of symptoms, which result in people having difficulties with specific language skills, particularly reading.
Students with dyslexia usually experience difficulties with other language skills such as spelling, writing, and pronouncing words.

This presentation will discuss the red flags, steps towards and after diagnosis and what to do when outside evaluations and school evaluations don't align.

The entire "crew" of the SS Francis Wyman reached their goal of earning 150 Purple Pirate Coupons for demonstrating positive classroom and school expectations.  Each coupon earned a piece of the puzzle which slowly revealed the school wide reward.  The students worked extremely hard to earn PAJAMA DAY and a special treat during lunch this Friday.
All students & staff are invited to wear their comfy pajamas to school on Friday, 2/5/2016!
